As a Muslim woman making artwork in United States, I use the Arabic language as a means to incorporate my identity.  My intention is a representation of my experiences.  I did not fully identify myself as a religious woman until I began my journey as an artist.  There is a strong religious presence in my home country, Saudi Arabia, but in the United States, religions practices are immersed in the culture differently.  I feel that it is my responsibility to share my religions beliefs with people.  My artistic goal is to serve as a reflection on the Creator and how overwhelmingly impressive He is.  When I work with a material such as copper, I can melt it and experience the change of its form and color.  When I have these experiences, I realize that only the Creator is capable of creating a material and able to change the form of the material from hard to soft by simply adding a natural element such as heat. When choosing a medium such as  stone, metal or wood, I try to seek a connection between the Creator and the world around us to represent a strong connection to nature, and worship to the God.
